AND...
Six years building backend systems in fintech — Java, Spring Boot, AWS. I recently started doing freelance projects on the side, and they've made clear what I want more of: work where I own more of the picture and stay close to the people using it.
CHICAGO, IL
ABOUT
Based in Chicago since 2020, my professional background is backend engineering in fintech — Java, Spring Boot, lately a lot of AWS, REST APIs, data pipelines, integrations. Over the last year I've had more room to actually shape things: backend architecture for an analytics platform, ingestion pipeline design, cross-team planning for a client onboarding system. That kind of ownership is new for me, and it's been the most interesting work I've done yet.
On the side I've been building for people I know — a site for a DJ collective's open-deck signups and events, a customizable portfolio for a DJ, my own wedding website. I got to see how real people use my work which matters a lot to me, and I want more of it. I'm open to full-time, freelance, or contract at any scale — what I care about is ownership and building things people actually use.
OUTSIDE WORK
I just recently started releasing music last year. House music — jazzy, bouncy, jackin', dub, I have a lot of influences. If that sounds like your vibe, check out my project Grid District. MORE INFO →
I picked up DJing to get a bit closer to the local music scene. I've done a couple shows at a local bar and coffee shop, but it's mostly a way for me to vibe with friends and more actively listen to my favorite tunes.
I enjoy photography and like to walk around documenting my surroundings, be it architecture, people, spaces, or landscapes. Beyond serving as a relaxing vehicle for getting out of the house, I've also covered some music shows and done portraits for friends.
I got into biking a few years ago as a fun way to get some exercise in. I also enjoy tinkering and building up my 90's steel hybrid gravel conversion.
I'D LOVE TO
WORK WITH YOU.
I'm open to full-time, part-time, contract, or freelance work. If you need something built or made, I'd love to hear about it.
Alternatively, if you're interested in collabing on music, doing a DJ gig together, or just getting together and spinning for funsies — let's get in touch.
